2009 HRAR Professional Honor Society Awards
The HRAR Professional Honor Society Awards demonstrates a serious commitment to the real estate profession. Receiving this award is an honor, as it shows that members are professionals in their career field of real estate. The required criteria for the Professional Honor Society represents a broad range of activities that successful REALTORS® pursue for a well rounded career. These include education, community service, REALTOR® association involvement as well as sales production.
To qualify for the HRAR Professional Honor Society, a REALTOR® member must have a minimum number of points in each of the following categories:
- Participation within the Local, State and/or National REALTOR® Association network as well as other real estate industry involvement
- Participation in real estate related education programs
- Community service participation
- Attainment of significant sales production
There were 27 Individual Professional Honor Society Awards, 5 Team Professional Honor Society Awards, and 5 Special Awards presented.

HRAR Special Awards
REALTOR® of the Year - Gary W. Mitchell. This award is given to the Honor Society
Recipient who has the highest number of points for real estate industry involvement,
education, community service participation, and sales production.
TEAM of the Year - See R Team. This award is given to the team who has the highest
number of points for real estate industry involvement, education, community service
participation, and sales production.

HRAR Association Service Award - LaDawn Knicely. This award recognizes a
REALTOR® who has volunteered their time, talent, and efforts in service to the local
Association.

HRAR Professionalism Award - J. Lowell Wenger. The recipient exhibits ethical and
professional conduct when dealing with clients, customers, and fellow REALTORS® and
continue to improve their professional knowledge of the real estate profession.
HRAR Honorary Membership - Clyde Pugh. Mr. Pugh was recognized and presented with Honorary Memebrship for 45 years as a REALTOR® member. He Served as HRAR President in 1977.
VAR Special Awards
VAR Residential Leasing & Property Management of the Year Award - Elizabeth F.
Kistler. The award, named in honor of the Virginia REALTOR® Ann Swearingen, is
presented to a Virginia residential property manager in recognition of individual
achievement in the industry.
